Starting an open-source book on epigenetics

Starting a Book on Epigenetics — For Software Engineers Who Want to Solve Aging

I’m beginning to write a book with ChatGPT about epigenetics, tailored specifically for software engineers.

Why?

Because many of the concepts in epigenetics — how gene expression is regulated, how biological state changes over time, how cells “remember” what they are — map surprisingly well to things we understand in software:

  • Configuration files
  • Version control
  • State machines
  • System bugs and patches

This book will be:

  • 🧠 Open source
  • 💡 Easy to read
  • 👨‍💻 Written in a language software engineers can understand
  • 🧬 Focused on understanding the biological mechanisms behind aging

The goal?
To get more curious minds from tech involved in the mission to understand and solve human aging, starting with one of the most fascinating and foundational fields: epigenetics.

If this sounds interesting to you, follow along.
